DISTANCE was an exhibition of images captured out of a hotel window during a 14 day quarantine in early 2021.
What began as a study of light and shadow quickly evolved into a daily hunt for moments of humanity within the urban
Presented at the Babekuhl Basement Gallery on Oxford St, Sydney as a collection of large scale photographs and projected timelapse footage set to a drone soundscape.
A second film titled BLESSING FORCE was also screened and revisited an earlier project of portraits and confessions about the hopes and fears of the Blessing Force art community in Oxford, England, circa 2011.
Together the two pieces form a meditation on hope and fear, and moments of self-reflection during the Covid pandemic.
